Edward Johnston is a successful business professional with over 40 years of diversified construction experience and has been delivering innovative, quality-built construction to a wide-ranging group of clients on Florida’s Nature Coast since 1976.

The Edward Russell Johnston, Inc. philosophy has always been simple and straight forward; innovative designs, maximized space, and well-built construction to ensure years of satisfying use. As a master builder of residential and commercial buildings, Edward Russell Johnston has overseen the construction of major buildings and hundreds of homes for more than forty years, thirty-six of those years building in Citrus County Florida and the surrounding areas.
Construction is a complex industry, one which requires a fundamental knowledge of how things work. Edward’s experience with energy efficient construction techniques, project and resource management, healthy home concepts, and home and office automation brings added value to his clients.
We design homes and buildings for the way people live. Edward Russell Johnston has made a reputation of quality craftsmanship by paying attention to customers’ needs. Community Involvement
Edward and Aaron Johnston working for Rotary
Edward Johnston has been very active in the community. Edward has served as president of the Citrus County Builders Association, President of the Citrus County chapter of the Coastal Conservation Association (twice), and Chairman of Citrus County Chapter of Ducks Unlimited.
Edward Johnston joined Rotary International in 1981 has been involved in the various aspects of Rotary for more than thirty years. Edward has served as Club President, Assistant District Governor and is the Rotary District 6950 Governor Nominee for the 2014–2015 Rotary year.
What really keeps Edward Johnston involved in Rotary is the fellowship of the people in Rotary united in the ideal of service. One of Edward’s favorite projects over the years was the construction of the Key Center Pool and Pavilion complex. Edward’s company, Edward Russell Johnston, Inc., donated the time to manage the construction and build the complex.
Credentials
Edward holds a Florida State Certified Class “A” General Contractor’s license, a Florida State Certified Home Inspectors license, EPA Certified lead Renovator license, a Florida State Certified Building Contaminant Technician license and Building Contaminant Assessor license (both currently inactive), and a Florida Real Estate Broker’s license.
Family
Edward, Aaron, Janet, Ellen and Anne
Edward and his wife Janet Johnston are blessed with three children. Daughter, Anne is in chemical engineer currently working for NASA at Florida’s Space Coast, daughter, Ellen is a software programmer currently working in San Francisco, and son, Aaron is attending college and majoring in engineering.
Edward likes the great outdoors and adventure. He also likes to cooking, gardening, and traveling to exotic fishing destinations. Edward hold’s a PADI open water diving license, Federal Aviation Private Pilot’s license, and is a Certified Fly Casting Instructor with the Federation of Fly Fishers
