Citrus County is Florida’s paradise with hosts of many great golf courses, lakes, rivers, parks and coastline on the Gulf
Many nationally ranked public golf courses are available. Also, private communities such as Sugarmill Woods have excellent golf courses.With its many rivers, lakes and springs, kayaking, snorkling and swimming are terrific in Citrus County.
Cyclists, joggers and walkers also enjoy the 50-mile linear park, The Withlacoochee State Trail. The park is a paved path that goes through and over scenic lakes and pastoral countrysides.
The Withlacoochee State Forest and other areas offer hunting for deer and turkey. Recrational anglers can head out to the Gulf of Mexico to catch grouper or a variety of salt water fish. Fresh water anglers can catch large mouth bass in the Tsala Apopka Lakes chain or in one of the seven fresh water rivers.
